Qualification Summary
Technical Abilities and Training Proficient in advanced hand and machine sewing. Knowledge of how to handle difficult and bias cut fabrics. First Handing experience, both in newly built garments and the alterations of pre-existing garments. Draping and flat-patterning training. Experience with knit and stretch garments and their construction. Basic tailoring skills and construction. Extensive knowledge of historic garments. Practical knowledge of wardrobe maintenance and care as well as dressing experience.
Administration and Communication
As a First Hand I’ve been the floor manager of shops varying from three to twenty technicians. I’ve been in charge of the delegation of incoming notes and alterations into the workforce. As Wardrobe Head I’ve led teams of dressers and been in charge of the cleaning, dispersal, repair, maintenance, and performer relations on several productions. I have a strong organizational inclination, preferring well-sorted notes and schedules.
Organizational and Artistic Proficiencies
Basic sewing machine maintenance. MS Office (Excel, Word, Publisher), Word Perfect, figure drawing, hand drafting, painting (oil, watercolor, acrylic), and BC driver’s license.
Personal Strengths and Accomplishments
Enthusiastic, creative, organized, meets deadlines and objectives. Communicative, and loves being part of a group, consequently, morale is very important among group members to maintain a positive work environment. Conservation of materials and supplies. Problem- solving. Loves teaching and being taught new skills. Particular interest in historical garment research and construction.

LOUISVILLE BALLET, Louisville, KY 2011-2013
First Hand, Wardrobe Head
Participated in the fittings of all performers; including dancers, extras (regular performers and non-performers), and children. Assisted in making decisions on what alterations can and would be made. Helped determine the work force numbers and skill-set to accomplish all work in a timely manner and delegated all notes to that workforce. Cut all of the garments built in-house. Assisted in raising productivity in the shop to an all time high, decreasing the need for over-hire labor. As Wardrobe Head, helped to determine the location and execution of all costume changes during the run of the performance. Coordinated various numbers of dressers and performers who assisted in those changes. Coordinated the care and maintenance of all costumes for productions lasting one week to one month. Acted as the key liaison between the costume production staff and the performers.

Teaching Assistant
Preparation for the class: researching appropriate silhouettes for a wide range of periods, finding a suitable pattern for all those participating in the class. Prepping materials: cutting coutil, and fashion fabric, cutting and tipping spiral boning and selecting rigid steel boning.
In class: aided in relaying proper construction techniques from the primary teacher to students, and due to the wide range of sewing experience, walking struggling students through more difficult steps.

WILLIAMSTOWN THEATRE FESTIVAL, Williamstown, MA 2010-2012
First Hand/Lead Stitcher
Starting as a stitcher in my first season: involved in the construction of many of the built garments in the eight show season including contemporary and period productions. Worked as part of a team to complete garments and assembly line garments as needed. In the next two seasons, as First Hand: cutting all built garments, involved in most fittings for built garments and consulted with the drapers for fitting adjustments. Delegating all alteration notes to the remaining stitchers/interns and insured that they were completed correctly and quickly. Participated in meetings with key members of staff to coordinate and streamline productivity and assess workers.
VIRGINIA SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL, Williamsburg, VA 2009

Draped and assembled several lead character’s garments including men and women’s wear. Worked with a variety of fabrics: silk taffeta, silk chiffon, wool, duck, cotton, velvet and plastic screening. Assembled mock-ups, fit performers, corrected patterns, made and finished all garments that I was designated. Costumes for this season included: medieval silhouettes, 1910s and contemporary men’s wear.
