BIO
Grace is a recent transplant to Vancouver, BC! She's attempting to break into a different industry- film. She's acquainting herself with her new city and loving it.
Most recently, Grace was the First Hand and Wardrobe Head at the Louisville Ballet. She is originally from Louisville, Kentucky where she attended the Youth Performing Arts School and there, she fell in love with designing and constructing costumes. As she began studying at Western Kentucky University she discovered the many new and different facets that costuming had to offer, exploring draping, flat patterning, mask making, costume crafts and millinery. In May 2011, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from WKU with a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology, minoring in History, whilst being Treasurer, then President of Alpha Psi Omega, the theatre honors society.
Grace also has an interest in historic costume construction and preservation, which she explored in her Honors thesis, A Turn of the Century Lady. Finished photos can be seen in the "Honors Thesis" section. Utilizing the skills she learned in her history courses, Grace was able document rarely seen garments from the Kentucky Museum (Bowling Green, KY). Using this and other period research she created all of the underpinnings and a dress that a woman of the period would have worn.
Grace also enjoys working on her Etsy shop, watching Netflix, reading, and more sewing! She loves exploring different ways of creating costumes and planning for future projects she hopes to one day be able to afford.
